I began my real estate career as a (divorced) single mom raising three children about 40 years ago. I  went to work with Home & Land Co. in the Sausalito office. This gave me the opportunity to learn Southern Marin County. That was excellent.

My Father, Harley Ussery, was a Marin County building contractor, and so I learned the process of building "spec homes" and "packaging new construction," once we found the vacant land, went through the process of lot splits, City/County requirements etc.

After awhile I moved to the San Rafael office (central Marin) which was better situated for me to cover all of Marin County. I was with Home & Land Co. for about 11 yrs. At that point I opened my own office in San Rafael and began working as a Broker/manager, managing agents/staff and helping my clients. I did that for about 15 yrs. At that time I decided what I really wanted to do, was to devote full time to "what I love doing"....helping people, like you, to buy and sell property. When I moved back into the "full time salesperson" capacity and as more and more buyers wanted to move North (into Sonoma County), I decided I could best serve everyone by locating in Novato. The commute had become very time consuming and I live in Novato. I have personally lived in Tiburon, Corte Madera and Novato.  I currently work all of Marin County very successfully and most of Sonoma.

As California grows in population there is more and more demand for housing. We all need a roof over our heads. I have watched Real Estate values spiral upward upward and upward. Yes, there have been a few "level" times and even a couple of times when prices have actually gone down. But from 40 years ago houses have doubled and tripled their values many many times over. Houses 40 yrs ago at $32,000 are now $700,000 +. Those statistics are available..... Owning Real Estate is a good thing.

Let's see....what else might you want to know about me? I have served on over 55 committees at MAR. Right now and for the last several years I have served on Professional Conduct and Ethics committee. I was elected by my peers to the Board of Directors and was named by my peers "Realtor of the Year." Yes, I have won many awards as a salesperson from the companies I have worked with. I donate to several charities that I believe are doing good work. I have been a member of Better Business Bureau www.GoldenGateBBB.org  for many years and  never had a complaint. I am a Broker, which is the highest licensing credential available and a CRS - Certified Residential Specialist, and I'm an Accredited Staging Professional - ASP. Only 4% of all REALTORS in the United States hold the CRS credential. I am a member of The Chamber of Commerce and the list goes on. Buying a home isn't simply about paying the lowest price (although that is clearly important). Along the way, there are fees, taxes and numberous other costs and details that can impact the bottom line of your purchase.

I trained and showed dogs. My kennel (dogs & cats) "Avante" was located in the San Fernando Valley (Southern California) and my training school was San Mar Dog Training.

My three children all graduated from Marin County Schools and have children of their own. I am a full time Realtor and I will help you to accomplish your goals. Clearly I love this business.
